As a fan of Italian cuisine, I’m always looking for ways to make traditional recipes just a little bit better. Recently, I’ve been on a mission to perfect my Italian Meatballs recipe. After some trial and error and a few taste tests, I think I’ve cracked it. If you’re looking for an amazing Italian Meatballs recipe, look no further!

Ingredients

To make this delicious Italian Meatballs recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:

  • 500g of minced beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 green pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1 teaspoon of basil
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of tomato puree
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar
  • 500g of cooked spaghetti
  • Parmesan cheese, to serve (optional)

Instructions

To make the Italian Meatballs, first heat the olive oil in a large pan over a medium heat. Add the onion, red pepper, green pepper, and garlic and fry for 5 minutes, stirring regularly. Now add the minced beef to the pan and fry until it’s browned.

Once the beef is browned, stir in the oregano, basil, tomato puree, and balsamic vinegar and mix everything together. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

After 15 minutes, shape the beef mixture into balls and place them on a greased baking tray. Bake in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for 15–20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in a pan of boiling water until it’s al dente. Drain it and serve the meatballs with the spaghetti and some grated Parmesan cheese.
